What do you think it would take to make the world work for 100% of humanity?
Are we missing some key breakthrough in energy, health care, transportation or food production?
I don't think we're missing any big breakthroughs. I think what we're missing is the fact that we're not using all of the breakthroughs we've got!
We have solutions for all of the big problems.
We know what to do, and we even know how much it will cost, but we just aren't.
In the 1970's, Buckmister Fuller (Bucky), a celebrated inventor and Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient, calculated that if we designed our homes and the products we use daily, with efficiency in mind, using the techniques developed for industry, we could provide the highest standard of living for everyone on the planet, without any ecological offence or disadvantage to anyone.
So why aren't we doing it?!
Why aren't we using the solutions we have?
Bucky concluded it was because our economic system is built on the outdated belief that there is not enough for everyone so we don't cooperate. And he seemed to think once people realize there is enough, they will spontaneously cooperate fixing everything quickly, just like we see in the aftermath of a disaster.
I don't want to wait for the disaster that will spark that spontaneous cooperation, I think we need to help it along, I think we need a form of coordinated cooperation.
Below is a quick video on Bucky, and below that is a video on explaining where I think we need to start.

And send me a note to tell me what you think.
